MAS Seeds® Côte d'Ivoire is proud to announce the registration of a new variety of maize, MASCOL, in the national catalogue of plant varieties of Côte d'Ivoire.

The variety portfolio of MAS Seeds® Côte d'Ivoire currently includes four hybrid maize varieties already listed in the official catalogue, offering high yields: three varieties of yellow maize (MASTROP 103, MASTROP 143, MASTROP 144) and one variety of white maize (MASTROP W43). With the introduction of MASCOL, a population variety, MAS Seeds® is committed to providing an economical option for small-scale farmers, facilitating the transition from farm-saved seeds to modern varieties.

Registered in accordance with the rigorous standards of the national catalogue of plant varieties, MASCOL has successfully passed comprehensive evaluations to validate its quality, yield performance, stability, and adaptation to various growing environments in Côte d'Ivoire.

"We are thrilled to announce the registration of MASCOL in the national catalogue of plant varieties. This milestone reflects our commitment to innovation and supporting local farmers by providing superior quality seed varieties," said Denis VILLENAVE, President of MAS Seeds® Côte d'Ivoire.

Registration in the national catalogue is crucial for MAS Seeds® Côte d'Ivoire. It ensures product quality, stability, and serves as assurance for farmers to acquire consistently high-performing products.

"The registration of MASCOL represents a crucial step in our efforts to disseminate quality seeds, with more productive varieties and adapted farming practices to ensure the country's food security," stated Songalo OUATTARA, ECOWAS Commercial Director of MAS Seeds® Côte d'Ivoire.

The availability of MASCOL in the Ivorian market underscores MAS Seeds® Côte d'Ivoire's ongoing commitment to promoting modern agricultural practices, leading to increased yields and contributing to the growth and prosperity of the agricultural sector in Côte d'Ivoire. Moreover, this registration grants access to the ECOWAS variety catalogue, further strengthening MAS Seeds®' presence and offerings in regional markets.
